*COACH USMAN SHERIF ABDALLAH PLEADS ON THE FOOTBALL FEDERATION TO PRIORTIZE CONSISTENT COACHING EDUCATION IN NIGERIA*

Coach Abdallah reiterated the need for coaching education to be priortize from the grassroot in Nigeria if not NPFL coaches would continue to struggle on the continent
He spoke to journalist during the 3rd edition of the AHLAN PRE SEASON TOURNAMENT in Jos Plateau State
Unfortunately,the performance of Nigerian clubs on the continent has been below average and inconsistent
He said “Increasing the level of coaching education and tactical knowledge among football coaches in Nigeria requires a strategic approach that includes education, incentives, and accessible resources”
Coach Abdallah outlined the need to develop affordable, accessible coaching certification programs within Nigeria via independent bodies that cater for various levels, from beginner to advanced. This could involve partnerships with local football associations and educational institutions
Further he said creating or utilizing existing online platforms to offer coaching courses that can be accessed remotely would go a long way to buttress the coaching system in Nigeria which allows coaches from different regions, including remote areas, to improve their education without the need to travel.
Making advanced coaching certifications a prerequisite for securing coaching positions at clubs, academies, or national teams should be flexible-this motivates coaches to pursue further education to advance their careers.
Coach Abdallah also said there is a need to provide scholarships, grants, or subsidies for coaches who enroll in advanced training programs. Additionally, this offers higher pay scales or bonuses for coaches who achieve higher certification levels establishing awards and recognition for coaches who excel in their education or demonstrate exceptional tactical knowledge and application
Significantly, Coach Abdallah projected a need for specialized workshops and clinics that focuses on advanced tactics, match analysis, and modern football trends. These events can be conducted by experienced local and international coaches in the process encouraging coaches to form study groups or peer networks where they can share knowledge, discuss tactics, and learn from each other’s experiences.
He further call the Football federation in Nigeria provide coaches with access to books, videos, tactical analysis software, and other educational materials that focus on advanced football tactics.
