3. Discipline
Ecclesiastes 10:16-17. That talks about discipline. You have learnt how, now discipline yourself. Become a law to yourself in your pursuit. You operate as commanded, not as convenient to deliver. . So you learn to sever between the expedient and the lawful. There is nothing wrong doing this but it is not adding value to me. Church Gist. 1 Corinthians 6:12, 10:13. You discipline your thirst. Some fellows started life with debt in the name of starting a business. He has borrowed so much that he will just be borrowing to pay to pay borrowing. Chain of borrowing. Why? He is minding high things, things beyond his level. That’s indiscipline! Life is in phases, men are in sizes.
Discipline your taste. It is work before pleasure. Proverbs 24:27. Young people hear me oh! Hear now “I am trusting God for ₦25,000,000 from my mother’s bank. I also have a friend and that bank, they are willing to give me ₦60,000,000” Church Gist. Okay, what is your job? You have not done one job in your life, you will crash it. Discipline! You discipline your taste! Discipline your outlook, discipline your clothes. You are not in a fashion parade, what is your problem?
A friend of mine one time we were in Canada. We were walking around the hotel. He said “Brother David, do you like this ring?” It was 210 Canadian Dollars. I said God forbid. Even If I am possessed. Church Gist. Guess what I said? That will build three churches. I am not a poor man but I will never wear a suit of 10,000 dollars. Where am I going? Who is looking for me? There are more valuable things to do with that. Young people, caution! Don’t eat up your future.
