Afeez Oyetoro: From Lowly Origins to Fame Saka, whose real name is Afeez Oyetoro, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, and film producer. Afeez was born in Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria, on August 20, 1963. His rise to fame is a result of his perseverance, hard work, and love of the arts.

 

*Early Life and Education*

Afeez was born into a polygamous family and was the youngest of his mother’s children. He grew up in a humble environment, where he developed a strong interest in acting and comedy. Afeez attended Ife-Olu Secondary School in Osogbo, Osun State, and later studied Theatre Arts at the Obafemi Awolowo University.

 

*Profession* In the 1990s, Afeez started his acting career by appearing in a number of Yoruba-language motion pictures. He played Saka in the 2001 movie “Osuofia in London,” which was his breakout performance. Due to the popularity of the movie, Afeez shot to fame and became well-known throughout Nigeria.

 

*Awards and Personal Lives* Olaide Oyetoro and Afeez are married, and the couple has three kids together. For his services to the Nigerian film industry, he has been nominated for and won multiple accolades, including: The 2020 Africa Movie Academy Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Award; the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards’ Best Actor in a Comedy; and the 2017 Best of Nollywood Awards’ Best Actor in a Supporting Role
